Hand woven alpaca rugs are loomed by experienced weavers.  The natural fibre is spun around a jute core, which gives the rug years of durability and also has the advantage of being reversible.  It resists fading and wear and also provides a certain amount of sound proofing  Vacuum with a smooth surface attachment frequently.  There will be as slight loss of fibre.  Spot clean with warm water and mild soap.  The entire surface may be shampooed with a Woolite rug cleaner.
